Having known Jerry my entire life, and hearing a majority of these stories from my dad (Terry), it was great hearing them from the first hand perspective, as opposed to the hand-me-down stories.Jerry's writing style is very much how he is in real life. Engaging and extremely personable, drawing you into the stories as if you were there with him.
It's really amazing, looking back and reading this book, that anything at Universal Studios ever got done and was successful. It's a true testament to people like Jerry that the park survived and is as popular as it is today.
If you want to know what it's like to be at the forefront of the early years of the modern amusement park industry (and what led to the "theme park wars" that were so prominent in the 80s and 90s), and hear about all the foibles that occurred over the years, this is definitely the book you need to read.
Even if you didn't want to know about that stuff, there are stories in this book that anyone can relate to, and helps lend insight to a great story, and a fantastic life for an extraordinary man.

Very entertaining, helps you see the inside of the business. You can see the author enjoyed his years working for Universal.
This is an engaging, personal story of Jerry's adventure at Universal Studios. For those who wonder what it was like during USH's early days and it's rise to go head to head with the Mouse, this is a great read.
Thoroughly enjoyed the book. Jerry's book provides insight into Universal Studios Hollywood that has never been brought to light before. It's incredible to read the history of the theme park and how it grew from a movie studio into a full fledged theme park.
There is just something about this guy's writing! It's magical. He pulls you into the narrative and you feel like you are reliving those early years at Universal along with him. It's so interesting to hear all the behind the scenes stories of how today's amazing Universal Studios theme park got started. Just like his amazing novel, Stealing Dawn, it's very hard to put down because you have to see what's going to happen next. Keep them coming Mr. Green.
Going to Universal Studios was a big part of my childhood. I remember watching shows like The Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show, The Animal Actor's Stage, and The Star Trek Adventure. But who created those shows and what kind of people ran them? Jerry Green writes his stories like he's sharing his experience with a close friend. This is an easy-to-read story that any theme park enthusiast will want to add to their collection.
I loved reading this book about Jerry's time at Universal Studios! I was a part of this journey through the eyes of a child and have to say it brought up such fond memories! I really felt like I was reliving the old tour ( and to me it was the best tour) as I read his book! To be a part of almost every Screen Test Theater experience was always so fun and I was always so proud to see Jerry on stage at his best! To say he was a good host was an understatement. He was great! It was quite the ride! I will cherish this book forever!
Reading this book was a real treat. Jerry Green writes in such a way that you feel like you are right there in the excitement. Thank you for all the fun facts about you and your contribution to the world of Universal Studios. Great read!!!
